As he approaches his half-decade plus one year at the helm, Mikel Arteta has stated plainly that his longevity in North London is fundamentally dependent to winning major honors.
A Look Back: From Appointment to Present
The Spanish coach took over on 20 December 2019 and managed to steer the team to an cup win not long after. But, that early success stands as his sole significant piece of silverware following the departure of Unai Emery.
“Absolutely,” Arteta responded in response to a query about remaining in charge after his current deal. “However, it is about today. And numerous factors need to fall into place in the near future as well to warrant that continuation.”

Arteta concluded, “This is a standard that the Premier League has not witnessed in the past. And our ambition is to achieve even higher goals. And if we do that, I think we are on the right path to winning.”
